Wilko Johnson, legendary guitarist with Dr Feelgood, and Roger Daltrey, lead singer of rock giants The Who are to release a joint album GOING BACK HOME on the world famous Chess label which has been resurrected specifically for this record/5(1K).
  • Molrajas says:
Supported by his touring band, Johnson entered the studio with Daltrey and knocked out Going Back Home in a week, just like the Feelgoods and the Who did back in the old days. That twin connection is important, as Going Back Home isn't merely a return to Wilko 's roots, it's a homecoming for Daltrey as well, marking the first time in decades that he's sung such tough, blues-based, three-chord rock & roll.8/

The album mostly features re-makes of vintage Wilko gems, including the Feelgoods' "All Through The City", "Keep It Out Of Sight" and "Going Back Home" - the latter co-written in with Johnny Kidd & The Pirates' guitarist Mick Green - plus "Everybody's Carrying A Gun", originally recorded by his post-Feelgoods group The Solid Senders, and the solo `80s rockers "Ice On The Motorway" and "I'm Going /5(1K).

Jun 28,  · The songs found on Going Home are all drawn from Wilko Johnson’s era with the band, with the exception of Bob Dylan’s “Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window.” With Daltrey, who never used his voice as an instrument of song, but as a sonic object to assault the listener like a thunderstorm crashing waves over the levee, and here, leaves even less room for the listener to breathe/5().

Going Back Home Lyrics: I wanna live the way I like / Sleep all the morning, go and get my fun at night / Things ain't like that here / Working just to keep my payments clear / I bought a brand.
