If there is a heavier, trippier, better Stoner/Doom Metal act around then I have yet to hear it. There's not one thing I would change about this album except maybe add more songs/5(21).

Aug 23,  · That isn't to say that YOB has turned into one of the many ultra-dense, ultra-claustrophobic metalcore or death metal bands that believes in bruising for the sake of bruising; even with the increased heaviness, The Unreal Never Lived is not the type of metal album that goes out of its way to be harsh. Nonetheless, the thickness factor has definitely increased for YOB -- and another 8/

Sep 07,  · But YOB's The Unreal Never Lived-- four songs-in minutes-- still stands out on its own as epic downtrodden metal with what sounds like seasoned potsmokers throwing in their High Times for some 8/

Originally released in , the trio's 5th full-length record is a master lesson in cosmic Doom. Epic, crushing, and heavy beyond words, YOB achieved legendary status in recent years due to their unmatched aesthetic and incredible body of work. The Great Cessation is a flawless document of a band reformed and reinspired like never before.
